As part of their ongoing Special Lecture Series, all the Commerce students spent ‘A Day with Kip Crossing’ on October 3, 2022 (forenoon) at the Conference Hall, Mualpui campus, where Mr. Kip Crossing (engineer, data scientist and social media content creator) shared his insights on learning from cultural dimensions and how adapting to a foreign culture can help in personal development.


The afternoon of the very same day saw the students interacting with Dr. Lalmalsawma Nghaka, who spoke about his diverse experiences as a medico-turned-entrepreneur under the banner of ‘Meet the Entrepreneur: A Special Lecture Series’, a new initiative of the Department of Commerce. He also shared some must-read books for entrepreneurs.


The next day (October 4, 2022), Mr. C. Laldampuia, Liaison Officer, Mizoram Rural Bank, MINECO Branch delivered a special talk titled “Career in Banking”, exhorted the students to choose banking careers and shared resources on how to prepare well for banking exams.

 

Meanwhile, two B.Com V Sem. students - Malsawmdawngliana and Jenefer Lalruatkimi participated at the Zoram Titi 2022 event organised by Vanglaini newspaper on October 1, 2022 where they listened to and interacted with experts on the topic “Sawrkar Sum leh Mipui Sum”.

The ‘Meet the Entrepreneur: A Special Lecture Series’ has also seen budding entrepreneurs - Lalsupuii, Founder of Kan Thingpui (lemongrass herbal tea) and H. Malsawmzuala, both alumni of the Department, motivating and interacting with the students on July 12 and August 3, 2022 respectively.
