Alumni Week was held by the Department of Economics on March 22, 2024 (Friday) at 11:30 AM in the classroom of the 6th semester BA Economics. The programme was attended by 75 students and all the department faculty. The alumni speaker, Mr. B Lalrinhlua (Class of 2003) is MPE&SS, Director, Department of Economics and Statistics, Govt. of Mizoram. He spoke on a range of subjects pertaining to his present job and discussed the methods used to gather economic indicators such as GSDP, per capita variables, agriculture census, etc. He also discussed the Department's collaboration with the ministries of the central government. In addition, the speaker also gave advice on careers based on his own experiences, inspiring the students to put in effort and commitment for their future. The talk given by the speaker not only enlightened the students but also the faculty members. The programme proved to be efficacious and will inspire similar programmes in the near future.
