On the 23rd December 2020, the Honourable Chief Minister of Mizoram, Pu Zoramthanga, paid a quick visit to the new college campus at Mualpui to personally view the development of the construction work there. He was accompanied by the Minister of Higher & Technical Education, Dr. R. Lalthangliana, as well as a number of officials. The college Principal, members of the Mualpui Campus Steering Committee, office staff, and Students' Union leaders were on hand to welcome the dignitaries.
The Commerce building and cafeteria are complete and were inaugurated in February 2018. While the Commerce dept. had been due to shift down to the new campus in July of the same year, the approach road could not be completed, and subsequent legal problems with neighbouring landowners caused further delay. The Arts building is now nearing completion and it is hoped that once colleges are reopened following the pandemic, the Commerce dept. as well as the third and third semester Arts students will all move down to the new campus.
