On the 15th December 2021, the Department of Economics, Govt. Aizawl College, hosted the Annual Business cum Academic Conference of the Mizoram Economic Association at the college conference hall. The college Principal, Professor C. Sangluaii, welcomed the delegates with a welcome address.
The event was split into two sessions. In the first session, election of office bearers for 2021 – 2023 was conducted with the help of the college Hindi department faculty members. The following were elected –

Vice-President – Dr. James LT Thanga, Mizoram University
General Secretary – Pu Samuel J. Laltlanzauva, Govt. Johnson College
Assistant Gen. Secretary - Pu Lalthlamuana Ralte, Pachhunga University College
Treasurer - Pi Lalmalsawmi Renthlei, Govt. Johnson College
Financial Secretary – Pu Joseph Lalremsanga, ICFAI University, Mizoram
Felicitation of outstanding students was also held with citations and prizes presented to Dr. C. Lalnunmawia, Govt. Hrangbana College, Guest Faculty, who was recently awarded a Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree, and Lalrammuana, Mizoram University, and Isaak Lalmuanzova, Pachhunga University College, who were toppers in the 2021 post-graduate and under-graduate examinations respectively.
In the post-lunch session, a national seminar on “Emerging Issues and Challenges of Indian Economy” was held. Ten presenters presented various papers on the theme, including the Head of the Economics department, Mrs. Rosie Lalmuanpuii, Associate Professor, who gave a presentation on "Motivational Factors and Performance of Mizo Women Entrepreneurs in Aizawl City, Mizoram" and Dr. Lalfakawmi, Assistant Professor, with a paper on "Challenges in e-Learning during Pandemic: a study with special reference to Govt. Colleges in Aizawl City, Mizoram."
