A committee for strengthening of the college Hindi Department was constituted with effect from the 1st December 2021 and until further orders.

GAC is the only college in Mizoram, besides Govt. Zawlnuam College, to offer Hindi at the undergraduate level. It was introduced in the year 2000 with only one faculty member which has now expanded to three regular and three part-time faculty members. Although student enrollment is not as high as with other departments, there is a steady and encouraging growth.
