The GAC-NSS, in collaboration with the Medical Committee, Village Adoption Cell, and the Departments of Commerce and Hindi of Govt. Aizawl College, organized an amalgamation of programmes on the 27th April 2023 at Hmuifang, the college adopted village.
In fulfilment of one aspect of the MOU signed by the college with Trinity Hospital, a ‘Free Medical Check-up Camp’, in which 3 doctors from Trinity Hospital namely Dr. Lallawmkimi, Dr. Michael Lalmuanzuala and Dr. Dommy Lalngaihawma, along with one nurse conducted a ‘Free Medical Check-up Camp.’ The doctors examined a total of 59 patients (28 male and 31 female) from Hmuifang village. The programme was administered by the NSS Cell and Medical Committee.
Students from the Dept. of Commerce conducted a ‘Water Conservation Awareness Campaign’ under the supervision of the NSS Cell at Neihlaia Memorial School and Govt. Primary School. And students from the Dept. of Hindi carried out a ‘Spoken Hindi Workshop’ at both the schools mentioned under the guidance of Village Adoption Cell.
Also, the NSS Unit conducted a house-to-house survey on the topic ‘Survey on Youth Not in Formal Education or Regular Employment’ amongst different families at Hmuifang.
A total of 48 students from the Department of Commerce (44 students) and Department of Hindi (4 students) along with 5 faculty members actively participated in the events that transpired.
