The college English Alumni Association was formally founded on the 3rd November 2023 by the English Department in Room # 502 of the Academic Block at Mualpui campus.
The idea for it came about as a suggestion from the Academic & Administrative Audit team (Mizoram Higher & Technical Education Department) in late October 2021 who advised the formation of departmental alumni associations as the bigger institutional associations often tend to be too large and unwieldy with graduates from different subjects and disciplines. The association is hoped to be used primarily for academic purposes such as conducting seminars and invited talks and lectures, besides reunions and meets. The department set up an online registration form in June 2023 inviting former English students to sign up, and at present there are 137 registered members ranging from retired faculty, doctoral degree holders to new graduates.
The new Office Bearers are -
President: Tommy Remchhunga, Class of 2018, and a JRF Ph.D. scholar at MZU.
Secretary: C. Zirsangliana, Class of 2018, and also a JRF Ph.D. scholar at MZU.
Treasurer: Vanlaldinpuii, Class of 2020, MA, B.Ed.
