Three separate Parents' Teachers' Meets between the English faculty and parents of English Core students in the 2nd, 4th and 6th semesters were conducted over Zoom on the 15th and 16th February 2020. These PT meets are usually held offline a few days after the reopening of the odd semesters but it was felt there was an urgent need to sensitize parents on the ramifications of online classes.

Parents were particularly requested to refrain from engaging their children in home/family chores during online class hours. They were apprised of key points of online classes, and of the mentoring system where their children are individually assigned mentors from the department teaching faculty.  The importance of attendance was stressed, as well as requirements for textbooks.

Parents' feedback included requests that classes not be conducted outside the normal class timings (i.e. between 9.30 am to 4 pm) and queries concerning leave applications, students' exam Grade Cards, and when classes would move offline which were answered and clarified.

Attendance was good and parents expressed satisfaction that the meets were informative and helpful.
