On July 1, 2024, 1:30 PM, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) organised a Faculty Development Programme at the GAC Conference Hall, Mualpui Campus. The programme was inaugurated by the Principal Mr. Lalbiakzuala and attended by the teaching faculty of the college.
Dr. Zolianzuali, IQAC Coordinator introduced the new UGC Binary Accreditation System to be followed from 2024. She highlighted the Maturity Based Graded Accreditation system, which has been developed for the purpose of raising the bar for the standard of higher education. With 5 Levels composed of 10 criteria points, the components of the new accreditation system carry the following weightage: Inputs with 25% and Processes and Outcomes with 75% of the total score. The Coordinator also informed the attendees that preparation of AQAR July 2023 - June 2024 must be taken up by all the IQAC Cells at the earliest.
Following this, there was a presentation by Mr. Jacob, Hereus about changes and updates made to the College Management System. He introduced the new mobile app and new features that include direct messages to (multiple or individual) students, app support for the college's mentoring system and the updated user profile section.
Salient features of the UGC Regulation 2018 was then presented by Dr. Lalmalsawma Khiangte, Assistant Coordinator. He highlighted the various criteria to be fulfilled by all teachers as per UGC Regulation 2018.
The last presentation for the programme was on the College-specific details about NEP implementation, classroom allotments and student-course allotments (Major, Minor, MDC, AEC, SEC, VAC, and NIELIT courses), given by Dr. K. Vanrammawia, Assistant Coordinator. He stressed upon necessary preparations to be made for the Internship/ Apprenticeship/Field work to be carried out by the upcoming Vth Semester students during the next semester.
The training was designed to be interactive and the questions and doubts of the attendees were addressed on the spot by the resource persons.
The Faculty Development Programme concluded with a vote of thanks given by Dr. K. Vanrammawia, Assistant Coordinator of GAC-IQAC.
