Mrs. Lalsangpuii, Associate Professor, and Head of the Sociology Dept. has been appointed as a member of the Covid-19 Committee on Psychological & Social Guidance set up by the Govt. of Mizoram on the 1st April 2020. The Committee consists primarily of college and university professors in the disciplines of Psychology and Sociology, and is expected to provide counselling towards public mental health, social guidance and emotional support in the wake of Covid-19. They had their first meeting on the 3rd April 2020.
Meanwhile, Professor Chawngsailova, Dept. of Political Science, is also a member of the Task Force on Essential Commodities in his capacity as President of the Mizoram Consumers' Union. The Committee is a driving force in the prevailing situation with meetings held on a regular basis.
