The traditional formal function to welcome freshers to the college was held on the 25th July at Vanapa Hall. The Principal, Mr. Lalrinawma, gave a welcome speech and noted that this year the college has 462 new students in the 1st semester, with 402 in the Arts stream and 62 in the Commerce stream. Remlalliana Ralte (inset) delivered a speech on behalf of the freshers.
Felicitations were presented to various recipients of college awards by the Research, Consultancy and Extension Cell. The college Alumni Association made a very special presentation to alumnus Mr. Lalhruaitluanga Chawngte in honour of his book Aizawlah Aizawler winning the coveted Book of the Year 2016 award instituted by the Mizo Academy of Letters.
The annual college magazine was also released at the function. The 41st edition is in hardcover, making it the first in the history of the college magazine. The Principal launched the publication, assisted by the editor Lalhriatkima and his assistant Daniel Vanlaldampuia.
