The annual programme to welcome freshers to the institution was held on the 8th August 2023 at Vanapa Hall. Due to the limited seating capacity of the hall, only the 1st semester and 5th semester students could attend the programme.

The Principal, Pu Lalbiakzuala, gave a speech welcoming all freshers to the college, urging them to work hard and be sincere in their studies. He informed the assembled students that without any real commitment and dedication, no true achievement can be made in today's highly competitive society. He also emphasized the importance of the college's clubs and extension bodies, stating that involvement in these extracurricular activities can greatly help in their future careers.

The college presently has a total of 1961 student enrollment: 689 in the 1st semester, 567 in the 3rd and 665 in the 5th semester.

Lallawmkimi, a Political Science Major, made a speech on behalf of all freshers, and the outgoing SU leader and Vice President also presented a speech, as did Pi Lalchhandami, Associate Professor. The annual college magazine was also released at the function.

Felicitation awards were presented to the eight rank-holders in the recent University exams, as well as to toppers in each academic department. These awards are cash incentives contributed by the faculty and individual teachers. Their presentation on Freshers' Day is conducted by members of the Students' Support and Progression Cell.
