After a gap of two years due to the pandemic, the college was able to conduct a Freshers' Social again on the 20th July 2022. The Hon'ble Chief Minister of Mizoram, Pu Zoramthanga, was the Chief Guest at the event which took place at Vanapa Hall. Unfortunately, since the hall has a limited seating capacity, only the 1st and 5th semester students could attend the function.
The Chief Guest noted that Govt. Aizawl College was the first college to extend an invitation to him to speak at a function and that he has fond memories and a close association to the college. He reminded the gathering that none of us can go back in time to rewrite our actions and deeds, and exhorted the freshers to make the most of the new phase in their lives as they start with a clean slate or a new unwritten page.
The Chief Guest also handed out felicitation awards to the nine rank holders in the recent university exams, as well as individual awards to members of the Students' Union for the 2021- 2022 academic session.
Alison Rosangliani presented a short speech on behalf of the freshers, and there were items from the college Music Club, Dance Club, Huiva Cultural Club etc. The programme ended at 5 pm with a vote of thanks from the SU.
