To commemorate the 78th anniversary of India’s Independence Day, a flag hoisting ceremony was held in the college courtyard on August 14, 2024 at 1:30 PM. The Principal Mr Lalbiakzuala unfurled the national flag, flanked by the SUOs of the GAC NCC unit. As the National Anthem was played, NCC cadets in full uniform and attending students and faculty members saluted and paid honour to the flag.

On Independence Day, nine GAC NCC cadets marched in the parade at AR Ground as part of the Armed Contingent, led by contingent commander JUO Ricky Lalthasanga (5th Sem., Sociology Dept). 

Meanwhile, JUO R.M. Lalhmangaihkimi (5th Sem., Political Sc. Dept) and Cdt. P.C. Lalnuntluangi (3rd Sem., English Dept) were part of the pilot party that escorted the Chief Minister.
