The GAC Employees Welfare Association, in collaboration with the Institutional Values and Best Practices Cell, organized the “GAC Reunion 2022” program on the 13th of September, 2022 at the Conference Hall, Mualpui Campus. The program was organized in order to celebrate and reconnect with both teaching and non-teaching former faculty and staff of the institution. The Vice Principal of the College, Mr. Lalbiakzuala served as Chairman of the program. Classes were suspended for the day while all faculty members attended the program, and students were assigned cleaning duties around the campus.
There were 23 former faculty members present as the program began at 11 am with an introductory speech by the Chairman, followed by Bible Reading and Prayer by Professor C. Vanlalhruaia of the Mizo Department. Two members of the GAC Music Club then took the stage and performed a rendition of the song “GAC, Vul Zel Nang Che.” Following this, the Principal Mrs. Hmingpuii was invited to give a welcome speech for all the invited attendees. Topics such as the upcoming NAAC Peer Team visit and other potential reunion programs were brought up.
Following this, the Chairman took the time to individually introduce all of the former faculty who had attended the event. A minute of silence was held in remembrance of 18 former faculty members who had passed away. Afterwards, the attendees were given an update on the various situations and plans that the college had been preparing with regards to further development of the Mualpui Campus. The Chairman then invited the attendees to share their thoughts with all those gathered.
A short recess was taken during which the GAC Music Club performed the song “Nang Ka Hlimna I Ni”. After the performance, Dr. Sangkima and Mrs. Lalrinpuii were invited to give closing speeches on behalf of all the former faculty. The invitees affirmed to the institution that they were willing to render their services to aid the institution if necessary. The Chairman thanked all the attendees for sparing their valuable time and brought the event to a close. After the program, group photos were taken together with both past and present faculty members and refreshments were served.
