As a preemptive measure against the spread of COVID-19, the Govt. of Mizoram has invoked provisions of the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 (Act No. 3 of 1897)  and taken the decision to close all universities, colleges, schools, anganwadis and pre-schools from the 17th March to the 31st March 2020. Ongoing examinations and evaluations will not be affected by this decision. A high level meeting held today decided that the directive issued would be revised as and when necessary, taking into account prevailing conditions.
