The Huiva Cultural Club celebrated its new affiliation to the Art & Culture Department, Govt. of Mizoram on the 8th June 2022 at the college Conference Hall.
The function was chaired by C. Lalhmingzauva, Secretary, Huiva Cultural Club. The programme started at 11 am with 45 participants, including members of the club, faculty members, invitees from the Art & Culture Department, Govt. of Mizoram, along with the Club's advisors, who are also Alumni of the college.
Liandingpuii Chinzah, Assistant Secretary, Huiva Cultural Club, gave a brief report of the club activities during the year. Members of the Club performed Chheihlam, the folk dance of Mizoram. H. Lalhruaitluangi, a member of the Music Club, also delivered a solo performance during the programme.
Mr. K. Rosiama, Dance Instruction, Department of Art & Culture, graced us with his presence and delivered a speech. In his speech, he mentioned that the Club is appointed to represent the State at the 20th Folk Fair-2022 (National Tribal/Folk Song & Dance Festival) at Jagannath Dham, Puri, Odisha from 20th-24th June 2022. They will perform Cheraw, also known as the ‘Bamboo Dance’ at the event.
The programme ended with a vote of thanks proposed by B. Laldinsanga, Leader, Huiva Cultural Club.
