On July 12, 2023, the College organised the inaugural function of the Boys’ Hostel and the Girls’ Hostel - Vertical Extension at Mualpui Campus. The Hon’ble Higher & Technical Education Minister graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Pi Sangchin Chinzah, Director, Higher & Technical Education Department was the Guest of Honour. The programme was chaired by the Principal.
The Chief Guest congratulated us on being the government college with the highest pass percentage in the recently declared B.A. Results (Arts Stream) of the MZU Examination and for having the second highest student enrolment.
Pi Sangchin Chinzah also gave a motivational speech and encouraged the students to continue the Mizo tradition of respect for elders. She concluded her speech by reminding the students to make the best use of information technology.
Dr. Zarzoliana, Addl. State Project Director, RUSA, Mizoram gave the Hostel Extension Technical Report and Dr. Lalsangzuala Khiangte, Vice-Principal and Chairman, Hostel Committee closed the function by giving the vote of thanks.
Construction work on the hostels commenced in September 2019 and work was finished on May 31, 2021. The Girls' Hostel was initially constructed with funds from the UGC totaling Rs. 40 lakhs and the vertical extension was enabled with the additional funds from RUSA. In total, Rs. 1,60,00,000/- of RUSA funds was spent on the construction of both the Boys’ & Women’s Hostel Extension buildings.
