The Dept. of Sociology organised a special lecture on History of Animals presented by Kyle Jackson on the 22nd April 2016 at the college Conference Hall. The lecture focused on understanding the Mizo lifeworld through a historical analysis of the interaction between animals and the Mizos. It looked at the status and roles of animals in Mizo history and examined at ways in which animals can be used in understanding contemporary Mizo society. The lecture was well received by the students.

 Kyle Jackson is a PhD candidate at the University of Warwick, UK, working on the entangled histories of environment, healing and Christianity in upland Northeast India.
