On July 10, 2023, the Commerce Department invited their alumnus, F. Laltlandiki, (Class of 2020), co-founder of Dairei Chips, to speak at the Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme titled “An Afternoon with Didiki” as part of the ongoing Meet the Entrepreneur: A Special Lecture Series sponsored by the Entrepreneurship Knowledge Cell (EKC). The programme was attended by 230 students and 8 faculty members. Faculty member of the EKC, R. Lalmalsawma (Sir Sawmpuia) hosted the programme and conducted a pop quiz to break the ice since it was the first day of college for the freshers. The resource person shared her entrepreneurial journey and patiently answered all the students’ questions. The Q&A round was moderated by Lalnunmawii Ralte (Miss Amawii), Secretary, EKC who gave a brief introduction about the nature and purpose of the EKC.
The Entrepreneurship Knowledge Cell is set up as a satellite centre of the Mizoram Startup Mission (Entrepreneurship Development Centre), Planning and Programme Implementation Department, Government of Mizoram. It is envisioned to create an entrepreneurship culture and develop entrepreneurial flair in students, facilitate the emergence of competent entrepreneurs and provide hand-holding support for entrepreneurs through entrepreneurship education, trainings, workshops, mentoring and consultation meetings. Membership in the College EKC extends to the alumni as well as present students. Interested students/alumni are encouraged to apply for membership by contacting any one of the following faculty members- Dr. Lalfakawmi, Lalnunmawii Ralte and R. Lalmalsawma.
