On Thursday, the 11th February, the GAC Youth Adventure Club and NCC unit, in collaboration with the Mizoram Disaster Management & Rehabilitation Deptt., organised a Mock Fire Drill at the college premises to ensure readiness and preparedness in the event of an emergency.

Mock fires were started and a siren sounded at 2 pm whereupon safety procedures immediately commenced. All classrooms were vacated as students made orderly and organised exits to the safety of the college compound outside the building. A fire truck from the state Fire and Emergency Services arrived and firemen hosed down the flames. Student volunteers then carried out emergency evacuations and life-saving rescue efforts, while some undertook emergency services on the ground, providing first-aid and other assistance to evacuees.

The exercise raised awareness in both students and faculty of the need for preparedness in such emergencies.
