At the award function organised by the Association for Voluntary Blood Donation, Mizoram, at the Chanmari YMA Hall to observe World Blood Donor Day (14th June 2017), the NSS Unit of Govt. Aizawl College was awarded first prize in the Educational Institutions category. In three blood donation camps, the college NSS had donated 354 units of blood during April 2016 - March 2017. Govt. Hrangbana College and Pachhunga University College both placed second with 320 units, while Govt. T. Romana College was third with 249 units of blood donated.
The Principal, Pu _, collected the award on behalf of the college. He was accompanied by NSS Programme Officers, Lalbiakzuala and Zorinfela, as well as a number of NSS volunteers.
