On the 22nd January 2018, Mr. C. Lalhriatpuia, Contract lecturer, Dept. of Sociology, passed away suddenly after a brief illness. He was 38.
Born on April 6, 1979, C. Lalhriatpuia completed his matriculation from J.L High School, Aizawl, and went on to graduate in Sociology from Bissau College, Shillong. He did his post-graduate studies in Sociology at NEHU Shillong. After a stint at Siaha Govt. College, he began working as a guest lecturer at Govt. Aizawl College from August 2007. In December 2017, he was made a Contract lecturer as per govt. orders.
He was admitted to hospital on the 15th January with pneumonia and his condition quickly worsened which neccesitated his being moved to the intensive care unit. He breathed his last at 12.50 pm on Monday the 22nd, leaving behind a wife and a young daughter, aged 5, who live with his parents at Ramthar Veng.
The college deeply grieves his untimely passing.
