One day Workshop on Special Education

A One day Workshop on Special Education was organized by the Equal Opportunity Cell, RUSA, Government Aizawl College on the 16th October 2019, at the college Conference Hall. Dr. R. Lalthankhumi, Associate Professor, Government Aizawl College and Mr. Lalbuatsaiha, Assistant Professor, J. Thankima College were the resource persons. The resource persons talked on Different types of Disability, Importance of Special Education, and Rights of the Disabled Person.

Lalbuatsaiha, the resource person, is a disabled person who is visually impaired. Despite being blind, he was able to take up academic challenges and his impairment was never a hurdle to achieve his ambition. He did his Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) from Jawaharlal Nehru University and is now pursuing his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D). At the workshop, he spoke on the Rights of the Disabled Person. The presentation was very enlightening and inspired the participants. A fruitful interaction session with students followed.
