Orientation for the major change to college life was successfully conducted for all students of the 1st semester on the 13th July for Arts students and the 15th July for Commerce. With more than 600 students in the 1st semester Arts, the sessions were held section-wise as follows at the Sikulpuikawn campus -

10.00 - 11.00 am - Section A
11.00 - 12 noon - Section B
12.30 - 1.30 pm - Section C
1.30 - 2.30 pm - Section D
2.30 - 3.30 pm - Section E

At each session, the Principal made a brief welcome speech and was then followed by select faculty members speaking on issues considered doubly important for all freshers, namely, the CBCS system of studies, college discipline, use of social media, mentoring, and manners and etiquette. The Vice Principal and a member of the Students' Union also addressed the students.

A similar session was held at Mualpui campus for the Commerce freshers on Friday, the 15th also at 10 am. Student attendance was very good and it hoped that the sessions were helpful for all concerned.

Orientation for the 3rd and 5th semester students were also conducted on the 7th and 8th July respectively. While the current 5th semester students had been given an orientation in September 2020 when they began their 1st semester, many had been unable to attend the programmes under the then prevailing pandemic situation. The 3rd semester students, on the other hand, had not received any kind of orientation as the country was under lockdown when they began their 1st semester in July 2021 so they were given exhaustive briefings on the dos and don'ts expected of them at college.
