The Department of Education organized for the first time a Pre-Chapchar Kut celebration programme at Conference Hall, Sikulpuikawn campus. The fourth semester MA students hosted the event. All were requested to wear Mizo traditional clothes; local dish “arsa buhchiar” and local made drinks were served as refreshment. Specal items included group singing, quiz competition, selection of king and queen. Besides these, felicitation of two Top 10 students in the last MZU examinations was also conducted. Students securing high SGPA in the odd semester results recently declared by Mizoram University were also acknowledged by presenting them with gifts. Speech on Chapchar Kut theme “Zonun ze mawi” was delivered by Dr. Vanlalngaii, a faculty of the department. 30 MA students and 8 faculty of the department attended the event.
