Altogether he worked at thirteen different institutions, and was a member of the CBSE Language Board. He joined Govt. Aizawl College on the 17th July 2001 from M.I.C.E., Aizawl.

A sincere, hard-working man with considerable knowledge of office procedures and handy technical skills, a few months after the retirement of the Principal Dr Sangkima at the end of 2013 and the incumbent Principal, M_ taking up charge, it was decided at a faculty meeting that the college required an unofficial Vice-Principal to assist with the administrative work, and Mr. Lalthangfala was unanimously agreed to be the best man for the job. He was the driving force behind the college obtaining land at Mualpui for a permanent college site/campus, and also shouldered the main responsibilty for the development of the site - building an approach road, construction of a women's hostel and Commerce block etc. Besides this, Mr. Fala undertook a lot of re-construction work at the present college campus including renovation of the college canteen.

He was given a warm farewell  by members of the faculty and office staff on his last day of work. The college wishes him a happy and restful retirement.
