The Department of Political Science organised an special online lecture to commemorate the superannuation pension of Mrs. Lalbiakhluni Hnamte, Head of Department, Political Science Department on the 30th September 2021 at 8.00 pm. The program was conducted on Zoom and also livestreamed on the college Youtube channel. There were 164 participants on Zoom which included faculty, students and academicians from other colleges. The topic of the lecture was ‘The Text and Context of Mizo Nationalism’ and presented by special invitee, Dr. Roluahpuia, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology, IIT Roorkie.
The program was split into two sessions; the first session was a farewell for Mrs. Lalbiakhluni Hnamte, and the second was the technical session. Both sessions were hosted by Mr. Lalmalsawma Khiangte, Assistant Professor, Political Science. In the first session, Dr. Lalsangzuala Khiangte, Associate Professor, Political Science, delivered a farewell speech for Mrs. Lalbiakhluni Hnamte on behalf of the Political Science department. Mrs Lalbiakhluni Hnamte herself also gave a short farewell speech to her colleagues and students.
In the technical session, Dr. Roluahpuia presented a very informative and interesting lecture on ‘The Text and Context of Mizo Nationalism’. After the presentation, participants raised questions which were given solid responses from the Resource Person. The program successfully concluded at 9.35 pm.
