The Teaching, Learning and Evaluation Cell, in collaboration with GAC-RUSA, organised a 'Training on Learning Management System' for the teaching faculty on the 16th October 2020. Mrs. Zolianzuali, Chairperson of the Teaching, Learning & Evaluation Cell, gave a brief speech at the onset of the proceedings.

The Resource Person, C. Lalengmawia, a Ph.D scholar in Computer Science and Engineering at the National Institute of Technology, Shillong, and working at Regga Technologies since 2016, had already developed a digital classroom programme for Johnson College and it had been decided to utilize a similar application for the college. Faculty and students will use the software named gaconline.in as a digital repository for study material in the form of video/audio lectures, notes, study links, tests etc. Students can submit their assignments via the application software, and their attendance can be easily ascertained from their access to the study material provided. The programme is intended to be used alongside regular Zoom classes.

Forty five faculty members attended the training which was divided into two sessions: an 11:00 am - 12:30 pm time slot for the English, Political Science, Commerce and Education departments, and 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm for Mizo, History, Sociology, Economics and Hindi.

It is hoped the LMS will enhance teaching and learning during these difficult times of enforced online education.
