The GAC-IQAC Teaching, Learning & Evaluation Cell organised a programme on “Awareness and Use of Electronic Information Resources in the Digital Environment” on Zoom on the 1st October 2021 at 7:30 pm. It was also streamed live on the college official YouTube channel and remains available there.

The Cell organised the webinar with the intention of enhancing the students’ academic performance by acquainting and providing them with informative knowledge on electronic information resources. The programme was hosted by Mrs. Zolianzuali, Associate Professor, Commerce, who warmly welcomed the Resource Person and all the participants. She also briefly introduced the Resource Person, Dr. F. Chanchinmawia,  Asst. Professor,  Mizoram University and then handed over  the time to him.

At the outset of his talk, the resource person highlighted the importance, relevance, types, issues, challenges and use of Electronic Information Resources in the teaching-learning process in the present scenario. He stressed that since electronic resources play a vital role in our daily lives and has become an effective channel for obtaining information, it is, therefore, essential that the students should be equipped with the knowledge and skills of using electronic information resources.  He urged the students to make optimum use of it because of its low-cost, reliability, authenticity and easy accessibility. Although there are significant various e-resources, due to limitation of time, the resource person selected and focussed only on a few e-resources which he feels are most suitable and appropriate for students of undergraduate courses. He then demonstrated on the procedure of accessing and utilising the selected e-resources, namely- E-Gyankosh, N-List, e-PG Patshala, eshodshindu, and Project Gutenberg.

It was an enriching and resourceful programme. It is expected that the programme would be of immense benefit to the students for their academic journey.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks from the host.
