The Alumni Association under the auspices of the Student Support and Progression Cell, GAC-IQAC, organized a webinar for the 5th semester students, as well as recent graduates, the Classes of 2020 and 2021, titled “Career Guidance - After College” on the 8th September 2021 at 3 pm. Mr. Lallianchhunga, Assistant Professor (Political Science) Mizoram University, and Mr. C. Lalhriatpuia, Managing Director, Hillsgate Estate Agency, Founder President, Mizoram Entrepreneurs’ Forum, both members of the Alumni Association GAC were speakers at the event.
Mr. Lallianchhunga elucidated on the benchmarks and the path to pursuing higher studies at Mizoram University. He stressed on the importance of adopting a studying technique which involves being aware of our environment-socio and political climate, reading print media daily, intentionality hand-in-hand with hard work and lastly the radical and moral implications of luck in human life.
In the second session, Mr. C Lalhriatpuia presented the latest statistics on the number of graduates in Mizoram to highlight entrepreneurship as a viable first option for college graduates. He presented a comprehensive roadmap and the up-skilling that is required in pursuing a career in various fields. The students were apprised of fourteen career avenues in much detail. The fields ranged from preparing for the UPSC Exam to the viability of a career as a builder in Mizoram.
