The Department of English conducted a Poetry/Prose Writing Competition on the Environment with the theme "Hear Mother Earth's Cry" on the 24th February 2023. This is the third such annual writing competition organised by the Department with the intention to encourage writings skills in students while focusing on cross-cutting issues. Previous themes were on Gender Equality and Human Rights & Values.
A total of ten (10) competitors took part in the competition with the winners being -
First: VL Muanpuia Pachuau, 4th semester
Second: Chawngthanmawia, 6th semester
Third: Rosalynd Lallawmsangi, 1st semester & Lalnunfeli, 6th semester
As in previous years, each competitor presented a reading of his/her writing to the audience which consisted of ninety (90) 6th and 4th semester English Core students, English department faculty and the Principal who kindly distributed the prizes.
