The Department of Education, Govt. Aizawl College in collaboration with NexGen Mizoram organised a seminar on Youth Leadership on April 24, 2024 at Conference Hall, Mualpui campus. Topics discussed were Identity and Purpose, Visionary Leadership and Characters of a leader. Besides the resource persons namely, Dr Lalmalsawmi Hmar, Dr Vanlalsiama and Mrs Juliet CK Lian, two members from NexGen also attended the seminar. The seminar began with a discussion on the status of Mizoram with regards to HIV Aids, Divorce and Drug Abuse and how the youth can become agents of change. The second session was devoted to “Identity and Purpose” where the audience was informed on identity formation and finding out what the purpose of one’s life is. The topic in the third session was “Visionary Leadership” where students were divided into groups for discussion on the topics “Am I a leader? and Where do I have influence?” followed by presentation from each group. In the fourth session, topic on “Characters of a leader” was discussed where important characters such as integrity and correct goal setting were emphasized among others.
